The Web and The News

Here's an interesting article about news and the Web. Wired. From my browsing I find there is really no news. It is the same stories day after day on the same subject day after day. Boring. Network news is boring. We are always getting bombarded by reports that reiterate the subject and adding little new content. What does this tell you? NO NEW CONTENT.

I remember the day when the news was reported and could be put into a half hour. Today there has to be stories and side-bar stories, and then there is the the footnote story. The local tie-in always cracks me up. They will find that one person out of a thousand that was there and must ask him/her about it. Then there is the "other side". "Well balanced" is a phrase that also cracks me up. What do you mean? Report the facts, don't twist them, don't spin them. Facts are facts.

Just had to vent on this one. The news is a sore spot for me. I want to read a headline that gets me to the story. Then I want to read the facts and the potential cause and effect of these facts. What ever happened to the Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How? Maybe I am just missing something here.
