Random Thoughts

As with most bloggers, I felt I wanted a place to put random thoughts, push philosophy, and just blab.

Today, I was pondering the China-Tibet conflict. I know conflict is a harsh word, but it is a conflict. What and why is really beyond me and even the media. It is reported that China is blocking YouTube posts regarding this event. Google News/Inforworld.
It doesn't surprise me that a government wants to block such video. Censorship? Yes. Try to stop the truth? Maybe. Try to stop the spread of violence due to crazy people needing a cause whether it is right or wrong? Quite possible.

My uneducated thoughts on this is China should let Tibet be their own country/nation. Why hold onto something that doesn't want to be held? The country is very isolated to begin with and the people there are, or appear, to be peaceful and quiet. Is it that bad to let them be? On the other hand, could Tibet benefit from support from the Chinese government? I don't know. These are the strange things that I wonder about Communists philosophy. What would a country like the USA do if Alaska decides it wants to leave? Would it fight to keep them. Violent fighting? Would it support them and encourage good relations after a split? How heavy handed do you think your government would be if this situation arose?

Let Tibet be Tibet. What's the big deal?
